Hey Singles, I can’t believe how quickly the year has gone by. We have 4 months left until the end of 2015. Have you completed your goals thus far? Most importantly have you accomplished all that God has set forth this season?Let’s have an awesome year and be about our Father’s business. This post is an oldie but goodie. First published on January 2, 2013- I thought I would remind myself (and you), being in God’s will is the epitome of success. Enjoy!
Proverbs 19:21 (New International Version) – Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.
Resolutions, check. Monthly goals, check.
As we all look proudly at our lists (whether or not you’ve written them down), I hope you didn’t forget the most important thing.
I know I did.
In the midst of looking forward to a great new year, God reminded me of what needed to be done. Coincidentally, I had previously asked him what my next post should say. As always, He revealed words that would stop me in my tracks while I proceeded with the mundane- my hair :-).
During that moment, I began to think about my monthly goal for September. It was major and being the planner that I am, I was definitely planning now.
But, the Lord spoke to my heart by saying, “you didn’t ask Me.”
Have you ever wished you could have avoided things, situations, people, etc? Our “if only” can be alleviated in a huge way by taking the time to consult God (the Master Architect), and inquire about His plans.
As God revealed further, He impressed that goal setting and to-do lists are not bad. We should have them. However, three simple words would make everyone’s goals all the more successful. What, How, and Where.
-Lord, what are your plans for me this year/ what do you want me to do?
-Lord, how would you like me to bless others?
-Lord, where would you like me to be?
True Success, I’m learning is being in the will of God.
He would LOVE for you to go further than making lists. He is longing to tell us just how productive we can be, when allowed the consultation He so desires.
As we go further into this year with our plans, how about we loosen that grip on lists and listen for His guidance. After all, Papa knows best! 🙂
What task has God given you to complete this year?
